I probably should’ve saved yesterday’s post for today…it has been quite popular!  I guess a witch on a roof will do that…especially at this time of year . 

It is www.southerngirlsecrets.com ‘s birthday today!  I wish I would have planned a party, but it has been a busy month & this totally snuck up on me.  I think I will share my most recent ‘upcycling’ project…if you feel compelled to toast The Secrets of a Southern Girl, please don’t let my lack of a party stop you .

Last week, while looking for the elusive ottoman (to go with my chair)…I stumbled upon this little guy…

I decided that for $2 I couldn’t resist.  I had a plan…it involved the same spray paint as I used on my clock…and I had plenty left over.  Here is the paint, just in case you do better with a visual…

I used the ‘short bursts in a sweeping motion’ technique Darling Husband taught me…it took 2 coats & I had to let him dry and flip him over to get under his bill & tail.  This is what he looks like now…

I kinda love him…up close you see that he is a cheesy ceramic duck spray painted by an amateur.   Added to my bookcase…

He is an interesting pop of color that really jives with our decor…and he kinda represents us…The Ducks .
