These Are a Few of My Favorite Things…

Yes, I’m singing the song…outloud…out of tune.  I am linking up today with The Nester…what a fun linky!  I love the concept of a Favorite Things Christmas Party…The WAC may need to consider this.

First things first…my day just doesn’t start properly without this one.  It is triple-lockdown when we run out…I only buy at Costco because it is sooooo much cheaper than the groceries (even when they’re on sale).  I am giving you fair warning, though…unless you are prepared for all other coffee to pale in comparison DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.  Drum roll please….Dunkin Donuts Original Roast…yummmmmmmmm!

My very favorite additive to said heavenly roast…Italian Sweet Cream by Coffee-Mate.  They started making a fat-free version, but my diet of choice (when I’m watching what I eat) is the low-carb variety…this creamer is my Kryptonite.  I have begged Coffee-Mate via their FB page to make a sugar free version, but none so far :(.  I can suffer through sub-DD coffee if I have this…

Now, it is no secret that I am not the best house keeper.  I try to keep the house mildly presentable, but my friends know me…and don’t judge me for my less than sparkling home.  We live here…and you can tell.  I do LOVE to use Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena ANYTHING…hand soap, counter spray, room refresher, laundry detergent…you name it, I love it.  Ethan even refers to this as my ‘perfume’…pretty sad.  I don’t wear perfume, they all give me a headache…but if they sold a body lotion in this fragrance, it would be my signature scent…I love it that much!  The most bang-for-your-buck is the All-Purpose cleaner, you can use it everywhere.

As I mentioned, I am very sensitive to fragrances…many give me outrageous headaches…but this stuff is great, softly fragranced.  Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender, I use it for myself and the kids.  I don’t wash my hair with it, but I do use it on theirs.

I am including this next item especially for this time of the year…my darling husband’s hands begin to crack and split (painfully) in the cold months.  I bought him a tin of this a couple of years ago…it is the only thing we have found that really works for him.  He is a super anti-moisturizer (hates feeling ‘greasy’), but he swears by this stuff.  Badger Balm (probably helps that it has a fairly masculine name lol).  I bought it at Ulta, not too expensive…the badger balm website has it on sale right now for less than $7.  A little really goes a long way.

Finally, my beauty obsession of 2011…Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lipcolor.  I must send out a big “Thank You, Ma’am” to The Pioneer Woman for enlightening me.  I just can’t get enough of her blog…LOVE everything about it!  If I could come up with the blog of my dreams, hers would be what it looked like…well, minus the homeschooling stuff…I don’t have it in me to do that.  My very favorite, can wear it with my pajamas color is Totally Toffee…but I have many others…you can collect them all!  (kidding, well I guess you could…but some of those just wouldn’t work with my coloring).  At $5ish, you can’t go wrong!  The creamy texture really keeps me coming back…I wear it all of the time (I used to be more of a gloss kinda girl).

So, there they are…my favorite things.  I tried to keep them somewhat random, what I use everyday, and under $10 each.  The priciest of them is the coffee.

Today’s secret revealed…by Cyber Monday we had ALL of the kids’ Christmas done!  We don’t even have our tree up yet!  Woot! Woot!  We are usually still grabbing things 2 days before Christmas.
